Cavitybatt/ Cavitylite

Cavitybatt and Cavitylite have been specially developed for insulation within steel frame structures, timber frame buildings and dry wall systems. Cavitybatt and Cavitylite is manufactured using high quality glass wool and is glass tissue faced on one side for ease of handling and improved rigidity.

Batts are designed around the frame/stud system for ease of installation, therefore minimal tools are required. A sharp knife/blade will come in handy for off-cuts and for slitting batts to fit over piping and conduits.

  1. Open packaging allowing space for the initial immediate recovery of compressed product.
  2. Push individual batts firmly into the cavity space with glass tissue facing on the exposed side.
  3. Use a sharp knife to slit the Cavitybatt to encapsulate piping/conduits.
  4. Use a sharp knife to cut batt around any plug points.
  5. Make sure that there are no gaps, which will cause thermal and noise leakage.

Install (51/63/100/102) mm thick self-supporting non-combustible lightweight, glass tissue faced Glasswool “Cavitybatt insulation”, offering a thermal resistance value of (1.34/1.66/2.63/2.68) m² K/W for heat and/or acoustic control. Install strictly in accordance to manufacturer’s detail and specification.

Tools Sharp Knife
1. Install drywall framework as per manufacture’s specification.
2. Install Isover Cavitybatt insulation progressively as boarding proceeds.Cavitybatt insulation should be tightly butted together and against the studs. Use a sharp knife to slit the cavitybatt to encapsulate pipes.
3. Clad the remaining side of the drywall.
