Energylite Industrial

Energylite is manufactured from non-combustible glass wool, bonded with an inert thermosetting resin to form a strong resilient product. It is odourless, inert and fully compatible with all standard building materials and components. Available in batts and blankets. A range of boards, felts, blankets are suitable for applications up to 450 °C.

  • Energylite contributes to indoor comfort and lifelong energy savings by reducing heat loss/gain due to the inherent thermal insulation properties. Non-corrosive, and it is safe to use on austenitic steels.

Energylite Insulation: (25/40/50/75/100)mm of density 24kg/m³.
Energylite Insulation: (25/40/50)mm of density 47.5kg/m³.
Energylite Insulation: (25/40/50)mm of density 64kg/m³.
Energylite Insulation: (25)mm of density 80kg/m³.

  • Performance criteria:
    K-value: 0.036 W/mK for 24kg/m³ (ASTM C518).
    K-value: 0.032 W/mK for 47.5kg/m³ and 64kg/m³ (ASTM C518).
    Combustibility: Non-combustible (SANS 10177 Part 5).
    Flame Spread Index: 10 (ASTM E-84).
    Smoke Development Index: 5 (ASTM E-84).
  • Specification- Application to metal walls
    Install (25/40/50/75/100)mm non-combustible Energylite glasswool insulation(blanket/batts) of density (24/47.5/64/80)kg/m³ (with woven black glasswool cloth liner).
    Fit securely with closely butted joints, leaving no gaps. Energylite is impaled over welded pins and secured in place using proprietary washers or studs and nuts. Use 3 lines of fixings at maximum 600mm centres with 2 lines 45mm from the edge of the (blanket/batt) and 1 line at the centre of the batt.
  • Specification- Application to Masonry walls
    Install (25/40/50/75/100)mm non-combustible Energylite glasswool insulation (blanket/batts) of density (24/47.5/64/80)kg/m³ (with woven black glasswool cloth liner).
    Fit securely with closely butted joints, leaving no gaps. Energylite secured in place using proprietary screws, washers or studs and nuts. Use 3 lines of fixings at maximum 600mm centres with 2 lines 45mm from the edge of the (blanket/batt) and 1 line at the centre of the batt.
  • Specification- Application to ground floors
    Install two layers of 25mm non-combustible Energylite glasswool insulation batts of density 64kg/m³. Fit securely with closely butted joints, leaving no gaps and with all joints staggered. Lay a damp proof membrane onto the concrete surface bed. Install Energylite batts onto the damp proof membrane. Cover Energylite with waterproof building paper/polythene. Install a concrete floating floor and finish as required.
  • Specification- Application to suspended Floors
    Install 25mm non-combustible Energylite glasswool insulation batts of density 64kg/m³. Fit securely with closely butted joints, leaving no gaps and with all joints staggered. Install Energylite batts onto the concrete floors. Cover Energylite with waterproof building paper/polythene. Install a concrete floating floor and finish as required.To be is read in conjunction with Glasswool Handling Instructions in the installation methodology.

Store product under cover and in dry conditions. Store flat. Handle with care, especially on the edges and corners, which can be damaged if subject to sharp or heavy impact. Do not apply excessive pressure, for example by standing or sitting on the product, as permanent damage may be caused.

Install (25/40/50/75/100)mm thick non-combustible, lightweight “Energylite” Glasswool insulation blanket/batts of (24/47.5/64)kg/m³ density for heat and/or acoustic control. Install in accordance with industry best practice.
